Brooklyn students competed in a special contest with the goal of remembering the Holocaust.
Students entered their best artwork, essays and poetry. They were recognized at the Holocaust Memorial Park in Sheepshead Bay Sunday as part of the 22nd annual Holocaust Memorial Committee?s gathering. Brooklyn student Michelle Kaufman took top honors with her paper. She says it was an honor to participate in the event.
Assemblyman Steven Cymbrowitz (D-Sheepshead Bay) holds the contest each year. The winning prize is a computer, which goes to the winner?s school.
