A Brooklyn woman is reaching out to people who need health insurance.
Talia Vaughn is working to sign people up for SelectHealth, the insurance company she says that helps those with mental health needs or are thinking about gender affirmation surgeries.
Her goal is to speak to those who are transgender, homeless and at risk for HIV.
While this Pride Month has been different in years past, the musician says what's not different is the need to take care of ourselves.
"We concentrate on pride, all this stuff festivities and a lot of fanfare going on, but we don’t need to lose sight. There’s still a fight. There’s still a struggle in that health care is important and SelectHealth is a great plan," Vaughn said.
