A brother and sister are facing criminal charges in connection to the death of their mother in Roosevelt.

Prosecutors say Michael McDougall hurt his mother so badly in September that she suffered a "catastrophic brain injury."

McDougall was the primary caregiver for his 85-year-old mother, who prosecutors say had dementia.

He is charged with manslaughter.

Michael McDougall's sister, Michelle McDougall, is also facing charges. Prosecutors say she abused her mother multiple times.
