Dream Car Auto Sales in Bushwick are calling on the public's help to locate a car that was stolen off of their lot on Monday Morning.
According to police, a 2017 Mercedes GLK was taken by a male in his late 20s wearing a sweatshirt and jeans.
Owners tell News 12 that same suspect had disabled a security camera at the businesses' office on Friday, two days before the crime, and had stolen a pair of keys to the vehicle.
He returned just after 9 a.m. Monday and locked himself in the car as soon as workers opened up the gate before fleeing.
"We had a similar theft a year ago. The guy crashed it and ran. We are hoping the car is in one piece and people see it and it can come back to us," said owner Tamir Orgad. He added that the value of the car was just over $22,000.
He tells News 12 he is offering a reward for information regarding the car. However, even if it's returned, the vehicle will have now have a theft on its title and decrease in its value.
"At this point we are not pressing charges. We just want the car back and something is better than nothing," he said.
Orgad says anyone who has seen the car can reach out to the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS or to the business at 347-234-6181.
