The Bushwick community celebrated Mexico's Day of the Dead at Maria Hernandez Park on Sunday.
At the Calabaza Festival, people donned costumes, carved pumpkins, danced to Mariachi music and remembered their loved ones who have passed.
Attendees said it was a chance to celebrate Mexican culture and share it with others in the community.
EcoStation:NY, which runs the event, said it was originally an autumn festival in another part of town, but when it moved to Maria Hernandez Park, they changed it to a Mexican-American celebration to embrace the community who lives there.
