A Bushwick family is pleading for the safe return of their aunt - 84-year-old Mary Grice, who has dementia.

Grice was last seen outside of her house Tuesday morning on Cooper Street. Her niece Tara tells News 12 they believe she wandered outside alone, as the front door to her apartment building and her living room were found open around 6:30 a.m.

The family has been out all day hanging flyers. They say they will not rest until she is back safely.

"We've been hitting the ground running," niece Cecily Jones says. "I'm exhausted, but I'm not going to sleep until I find my aunt."

Her family says anyone who sees Grice should approach her and speak to her gently, offer her an area to warm up and call police.
