Two Bronx legislators are proposing new laws to help curb underage drinking in the borough.
Sen. Jeffrey Klein (D-Morris Park) and Assemblyman Marcos Crespo (D-Morrisania, Soundview) say they want to increase the number of businesses using fake ID scanners. They are also proposing legislation to create harsher penalties for those who sell or make fake IDs.
This comes after an undercover sting operation by the New York State Liquor Authority, which caught 24 bodegas in The Bronx illegally selling alcohol to minors.
