Both women and a 1-year-old boy were taken to Maimonides Hospital for minor injuries.
The crash is under investigation, and the driver has not been charged at this time. Police tell News 12 that the driver is a 69-year-old man.
Neighbors tell News 12 that the crossing guard who is usually on duty for school drop-off and pickup was not there at the time of the crash. They believe having a crossing guard at all times of the day would make the busy intersection safer.
News 12 asked the NYPD if it has any plans to extend shift hours at this location but did not hear back.
