NYPD data shows at least three people have died in traffic collisions this year in Midwood.
The most recent was a 70-year-old man who was hit and killed while crossing the street on Avenue I and East 5th Street on Monday.
Since May, News 12 has reported on at least three different incidents in Midwood.

Traffic safety advocate and resident Sarah Herbst is a traffic collision survivor herself, and says hearing about these crashes hits home.
"When I saw someone was killed crossing the street here, I felt a little sick because I was sad for him and his family. It's for sure an issue here, and I was not surprised to hear about it at all, unfortunately," said Herbst.
The intersection where the 70-year-old man was hit and killed only has two crosswalks and one stop sign. Advocate for Families for Safe Streets and traffic collision survivor Deborah Herden says it's not enough to keep people safe and it's an issue at many intersections across the area.
"There's a lot of car owners, a lot of intersections that aren't friendly to intersections or pedestrians like this one here. There's a lot of mental calculations going on everywhere at every intersection," said Herden.
Residents and advocates tell News 12 stop signs, crosswalks and traffic lights are all things they feel could improve safety at the intersection of Avenue I and East 5th Street, as well as intersections across the city.
The NYC DOT tells News 12 that with every traffic fatality, it reviews the street design at that location, and that it is always reviewing it for community safety requests.
