Catholic school dedicates day to recognize first responders

The Saint Phillip Neri School community celebrated the work of New York City’s first responders by hosting a Blue Mass in recognition of those sworn to protect and serve.

A Catholic school in Norwood took Tuesday to recognize the work and service of our first responders.  
The Saint Phillip Neri School community celebrated the work of New York City’s first responders by hosting a Blue Mass in recognition of those sworn to protect and serve.  
Today’s event kicks off Catholic Schools Week as parochial schools around the country celebrate teachers, parents and hardworking neighbors who help support their school communities.  
EMS, police, and other essential workers were treated to a breakfast following the service, with thank you notes from the students on their tables.
