After Bronx Catholic school teachers rejected Tuesday?s contract proposed by the archdiocese, students voiced their concerns Thursday over the future of their education.?People don't think about it but it does affect us because we have finals coming up,? said Cardinal Hayes senior Jerel LeSanta. Teachers at Cardinal Spellman and Cardinal Hayes have been working without a contract since last summer. After mounting disagreements on salaries and health benefits, the teachers recently went on strike during Pope Benedict XVI?s visit to New York. Many students at the two high schools are hoping for a resolution. Although most seniors are thinking about their graduation, many are also concerned about the quality of education for future classes. ?I?m worried for the freshmen and sophomores. They won?t have a good experience because this may affect their education,? said Cardinal Spellman senior Michael Augustus.
