Police are searching for the man who attacked a woman on a Crown Heights street.

Police say the victim was walking near Crown Street and Nostrand Avenue when the suspect came up out of nowhere and punched her in the side of the head.

The attack, which was caught on camera, happened around noon on March 9.

The video shows a man walk up to the 27-year-old woman and hitting her in the head. Police say he then took off, heading northbound on Nostrand Avenue.

The suspect is described as being around 40 years old and about 5 feet 10 inches.

Police say he had dark colored facial hair at the time and was last seen wearing a navy blue jacket, a black wool hat, blue jeans and black sneakers.

News 12 is told the victim drove herself the hospital where she was treated for pain to her head.
