A hit-and-run captured on camera sent a grandmother and her young grandson to the hospital on Monday in Pelham Gardens.
Video footage captured the moment a 62-year-old woman and a 2-year-old were struck by a car. The woman in the video could be seen stopping before walking across the crosswalk.
Authorities say she had the right of way and was starting to cross on Mace Avenue and Eastchester Road around 2:20 p.m. when a man driving a red GMC Terrain turned left and hit the woman with the stroller knocking them to the floor.
They say the man driving the GMC pulled over and appeared to check on the victims before getting back into his car and leaving the scene.
Police say the 63-year-old woman and the 2-year-old boy were taken to the hospital in stable condition. The toddler suffered a head contusion.
Detectives are looking to question the man behind the wheel. Anyone with information is asked to call crime stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
