Families were treated to a special taste of Christmas celebrations in the 1600s this weekend at the Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum.
The museum is the oldest building in the state of New York and dates back to 1638, when the Dutch settled in New York City.
In the Netherlands, children look forward to Dec. 5, when Sinterklaas makes a visit with presents. Sinterklaas stopped by the Wyckoff Museum on horseback Saturday, and he read to children.
Kids also got to take part in colonial games and enjoy apple cider and Dutch doughnuts.
