Bronx residents came together Tuesday for a celebration honoring the contributions of a growing community in the borough.
The second annual event, held at Melanie's Restaurant, celebrated the growing number of Guyanese immigrants in the community.
The celebration was put on by the Guyana Independence Committee and the Bronx borough president.
Three individuals were honored in the categories of business, leadership and community.
The event ended with a feast of Guyanese favorites often served at Melanie's Restaurant.
