One Brooklyn group opposed to the Atlantic Rail Yards project is now willing to compromise. Currently, the $1 billion development plan includes a sports arena and residential and office space. The Brooklyn Speaks Coalition says they are willing to back the project if developer Forest City Ratner agrees to make key changes. Those changes would include a scaled down project with more affordable housing. Developer Bruce Ratner is calling the possible compromise a sign of progress and looks forward to hearing the group?s ideas. Brooklyn Speaks cautions unless changes are made, its members will not support the project.
