UPDATE - April 22: This event has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.
Oscar-nominated actor Chris Sarandon, who you may recognize from his role in "The Princess Bride," is welcoming another special guest for his hit podcast series.
The Sacred Heart Community Theater in Fairfield is hosting the event.
Emmy Award-winning writer and producer John Markus will join Sarandon for the podcast "Cooking By Heart" later this month. Markus worked for six years on "The Cosby Show." He also worked on "The Larry Sanders Show" and "A Different World." Since then, he has fallen in love with everything barbecue.
Markus is a Barbecue Hall of Fame inductee and the creator of TLC's "BBQ Pitmasters." He'll be talking with Sarandon about barbecue and his career in TV. They both compared the similarities of TV and food.
"What's important is the work, it's not the recipe. It's the work. It's the collaboration. And as John says, it's ultimately the community that's formed in the process," says Sarandon.
"That you allow the process to organically form, that you are not trying to be controlling of the process, and you leave a lot of room for discovery. And those are two .. that's a great way to compare the two actually," says Markus.
The show is coming to the SHU Theater on Sunday, April 27 at 3 p.m. There's even going to be a food truck.
