The Diocese of Brooklyn is bringing holiday cheer to the borough with a Nativity scene and one of the largest Christmas trees ever displayed in Prospect Park.
Pieces of the three wise men, a camel and a donkey -- all part of the Nativity creche -- were loaded up into a truck at the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph before being brought to Grand Army Plaza.
A 35-foot balsam fir was set alongside the creche.
The Nativity celebrates the birth of Jesus inside a stable, as described in the Bible.
The diocese says it hopes people of all faiths can appreciate the message of the scene, which is to help the less fortunate during the holiday season.
Multicolored lights on the tree are intended to represent Brooklyn's diversity. The tree will be lit and the creche blessed during a special ceremony next Monday.
