This Easter Sunday, a Brooklyn congregation got to celebrate Mass at its new house of worship after a fire tore through its former church.
The Brownsville church that Global Fire International called home was destroyed by an arsonist last April. No arrests have been made in the case.
An anonymous donor supplied the congregation with its new location in Bedford-Stuyvesant. Congregants say this Easter was especially remarkable because the church has risen from the ashes.
Global Fire International says it has seen an increase in churchgoers and it is looking to add another service on Sundays.
