A group is out to make sure girls in the borough get to attend special occasions like prom and graduation, even when fancy attire isn't in their family's budget.
The Brooklyn Cinderella Project lets girls pick out dresses, shoes and accessories for free so they can attend their upcoming special events after working hard in school all year.
Dozens of girls turned out for the group's event in Fort Greene Saturday. Volunteers helped about 150 teens browse through 300 donated dresses so that they will be able to feel like princesses on their special day.
It marked the fifth year the Cinderella Project event took place, and organizers hope to hold many more in future. The events are held in April, but the group takes donations all year.
