The city's parks department is asking Bed-Stuy residents to share their ideas on how to make Jesse Owens Playground a thriving city park.
Jesse Owens Playground on Lafayette Avenue is one of 35 sites the city is planning to redo as part of a $130 million community parks initiative.
Officials say the goal of the program is to invest money in under-funded public parks in lower-income communities that have a large population.
They say Jesse Owens Playground will get $4.5 million, and some of the money is expected to go toward improving bathrooms and increasing staff.
Many residents News 12 spoke to say any improvements to the park would be welcomed.
