Helicopter noise and safety were discussed at Tuesday's City Council hearing.
Complaints against helicopter noise have skyrocketed since the COVID-19 pandemic. Over 50,000 complaints were filed with 311 in 2023 alone. The Department of Economic Development says the industry generates less than $2 million in revenue for the city annually.
A number of bills addressing this and other citywide issues were introduced. Majority Leader Amanda Farías and other elected officials addressed the public ahead of the hearing.
