City officials said Wednesday that free meals are available for kids during the summer.
They said 400 sites across the city will offer meals for children 18 years and younger. The sites are located at public schools, community pool centers and parks. Food trucks are also part of the initiative every year.
"The pandemic has receded, that doesn't mean that our families still don't need that support,” said Councilmember Peirina Sanchez.

No documentation, identification or registration is needed and if residents don't know where to go, they can call 311.

"I’m a mom now, right?” added parent advocate Erika Gonzalez. “So now I’m in that position where my kids have to be fed and then sometimes, I don't have time, sometimes I have to get up for work as well, and then I’m like wait! breakfast!"
The free summer meals program runs until Sept. 1.
