City officials toured several black-owned businesses in Bedford-Stuyvesant Thursday as part of National Black Business Month.

Those officials included members of the Small Business Services, Strategic Policy Initiatives and the Mayor’s Office of International Affairs.

Along Tompkins Avenue, there are several businesses owned by women of color who said they appreciate the recognition during National Black Business Month.

The officials told News 12 that they were impressed to hear how connected the business owners were to the community.
