Several Brooklyn streets are getting some much needed attention thanks to the Cleanup NYC Initiative.
The program is funding the hiring of workers to help clean up certain areas of Brooklyn.
The workers will be mainly from The Doe Fund, which provides jobs to people who are trying to rebuild their lives.
The workers will be cleaning along 86th Street between 18th and 25th avenues four times a week, on Avenue U between McDonald and Ocean Parkway three times a week and Mermaid Avenue between Stillwell Avenue and West 33rd Street up to five days a week.
The total amount of funding for the cleanup is $130,000.
The cleaning is expected to begin on 86th Street and Avenue U on Nov. 1.
