WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- Later Saturday evening, clouds will thicken up as a storm system approaches the region. Scattered showers will come in a few rounds throughout the day on Sunday. There will be isolated storms as well, but they are expected to be non-severe. Brief wind gusts and downpours are possible with any storm that comes through.
- There is lowered air quality throughout the rest of the weekend as fine particles in the atmosphere, associated with smoke aloft, move through. An air quality alert has been issued (it will expire Sunday night) and those with breathing concerns and heart issues are advised to take it easy.
- Starting Monday, heat will build back into the region. Temps will get to and go past 90 degrees through Wednesday. The temps will feel even hotter when the humidity is felt, and as such, a heat advisory has been issued for Monday and Tuesday. Temps could feel into the upper 90s to 105 degree range.
- Wednesday sees clouds increase ahead of a system that arrives late Wednesday into Thursday. There will be a chance for showers and storms during that timeframe. But we'll also see temperatures cool down, and humidity levels gradually go down as well.
