Dozens of people were forced to evacuate their homes during a carbon monoxide scare in East New York.
Officials say they discovered extremely high CO levels inside 10 apartment buildings on New Jersey Avenue, affecting about 40 people.
According to investigators, it appears that rain caused water to drip down into a transformer, leading to a CO leak that spread to the homes.
The fire chief on scene says the incident serves as a reminder to everyone to make sure they have a working carbon monoxide detector.
No injuries were reported, and everyone has since been able to return home.
