A new poll released this morning shows that while Police Commissioner Ray Kelly has the highest approval rating of any city official, voters don't see him as mayoral material.In a potential matchup, the Republican trails three leading Democratic candidates in the 2013 mayoral race by double digits. However, Kelly has a 66-percent approval rating at his current job, according to Quinnipiac University. New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn leads the other two Democrats, former Comptroller William Thompson and public advocate Bill de Blasio by a 2-to-1 marginKelly has publicly said he will not run for mayor.
