Bushwick community members joined together to collect goods for Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria devastated the island.
Part rally and part fundraiser, they held a collection drive on the corner of Debevoise Street and Graham Avenue -- also appropriately named the Avenue of Puerto Rico.
Organizer Cynthia Perez says that in addition to collecting supplies for Puerto Rico, they want to send their love to the storm-ravaged territory.

They were able to gather of bottled water, grocery bags filled with nonperishable goods and even a wagon full of clothes.
State Assemblywoman Maritza Davila is assisting the efforts by allowing her office to be used as storage space until the goods are ready to be shipped out.
Volunteers are hoping to fly to Puerto Rico in early October.
