More than 10 community groups filed a lawsuit against developer Forest City Ratner Companies Wednesday. The suit seeks an injunction for the demolition of six buildings on the proposed Atlantic Rail Yards site in Prospect Heights. The groups, including Develop Don't Destroy, claim developer Bruce Ratner's plan is illegal and that he lacks the correct permits and environmental reviews. Ratner is planning to build a $3.5 billion complex at the site, which includes a new basketball arena for the New Jersey Nets. Ratner says he's consulted the city and that the lawsuit is just a tactic to delay plans. Related article:
