A vigil was held for a father and daughter who were killed inside a Cypress Hills home.
Family members and members of the community gathered on Warwick Street to say goodbye to 66-year-old Jaqueline Delyons and her 91-year-old father, Roosevelt Simmons.
The pair were found dead in their homes with multiple stab wounds.
Police say 46-year-old Kerry Lewis, who family members identify as the boyfriend of Delyons, is facing murder charges in connection to their deaths.
The vigil included prayers, attendees dancing to the favorite songs of the victims and a release of balloons.
Those in attendance say Delyons was known by all for her love and positivity and Simmons for being a fixture of the community who will be missed.
The family says they were moved to see how many people attended the vigil, saying the crowd and the love shown was a testament to the legacy the victims left behind.
