The Morris Park community continues to mourn a man who was shot and killed after an argument over a parking spot escalated over the weekend.

Trevor Hughes, 49, also known by many as DJ dread, is described by neighbors as a kind soul. Witnesses say an argument over a parking spot turned deadly after Hughes was shot in the stomach just steps away from his home.

Lavar Davis, 36, is now in police custody and charged with murder.

"I heard the gunshots. Right in front of his house. He came home. He DJs at night. He came home around 1:30 a.m. Somebody was in his driveway. You don't do that," a neighbor of Hughes tells News 12.

The National Latino Peace Officers Association shared photos of Hughes on social media--expressing his unmatched talent and vibrant personality.
