Comptroller Brad Lander launches bid for Congress
New York City Comptroller Brad Lander on Wednesday announced his campaign for New York’s 10th Congressional District. Lander’s run sets up a Democratic primary with current Rep. Dan Goldman. The district covers parts of Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. In a video announcement, Lander vowed to take on President Donald Trump's administration. “At a moment of dark oppression, we can shine by fighting back together. While the oligarchy drives an affordability crisis, they shouldn’t be able to buy a seat in Congress. While our immigrant neighbors are being demonized and attacked, we can put our bodies on the line to protect them,” Lander said in the video. Lander formerly served on the City Council and made a Democratic primary bid for mayor before throwing his support behind Zohran Mamdani, who won the general election in November.
