New York City Comptroller and Democratic mayoral candidate Bill Thompson claims some subway stations in Brooklyn need immediate repairs.

Thompson says an audit of the MTA stations, which began in July of 2008, has shown many have ceiling holes and track problems, among other issues. The audit shows that about two-thirds of subway station problems were not reported by station supervisors to maintenance shops.

The station at 9th and Smith streets is among the borough's worst and many straphangers say a gaping hole in the ceiling has existed for at least two years.
