Brooklyn residents headed out to the Coney Island boardwalk to celebrate New Year's Eve.
This was the sixth year the Coney Island Alliance hosted the event.
Victoria Petula, of the Coney Island Brewery, said the event featured live performances by acrobats, sword swallowers, a burlesque show and live jazz music by a quartet.
"It is a whole lot of fun," Petula says. "A lot of the neighborhood comes out. Everyone's bundled together. It's our version of Times Square."
The rides at Luna Park were not open like in other years, but that didn't stop some people from having a good time.
"Just looking back and thinking of the year and seeing all the people jumping around kissing each other," says John Cassavella, of Sheepshead Bay. "I kind of get a kick out of it."
The event was open to anyone who wanted to attend.
