Coney Island Maker Faire coming to Brooklyn in October
Organizers are searching for investors and creatives to take part in the Coney Island Maker Faire coming to Brooklyn next month.
For Elijah Horland, doing hands-on projects has always been his passion, and when he attended his first Maker Faire in middle school, he fell in love.
“There are things at a maker faire that you can literally not see anywhere else,” said Horland, who now is part of the team bringing the Maker Faire to Coney Island. “We have robot competitions, drone competitions, puppet building workshops… we’re hopefully inspiring the curiosity and imagination of kids and families.”
The Coney Island Amphitheater will turn into a showcase of creativity and ingenuity for two days next month, and organizers are encouraging inventors and makers to come and put their proudest work on display.
“Maker Faire is a celebration of makers of all types,” said Scott Schubert, the CEO of the Coney Island Maker Faire. “Everyone from brewers to chefs to robot-makers and technology people.”
