For a third straight day, construction crews working outside are looking for ways to battle the heat that has scorched the borough.
Crews digging up the sidewalk along Second Avenue to replace contaminated soil worked for nearly 10 hours in temperatures reaching near 100 degrees on Thursday.
Workers say they are starting earlier to avoid the hottest parts of the day and staying hydrated.
