A judge sentenced Marlon Legere to two terms of life without the possibility of parole Wednesday. The courtroom was packed with police officers and family members of the men Legere killed. Before the sentencing, victims? statements were read. Legere also spoke, saying he is innocent of the crimes and he did not know the men were police officers.
Legere was convicted earlier this month in the shooting deaths of Detectives Robert Parker and Patrick Rafferty in September 2004. Officials say Legere used one of the detective?s guns to shoot them. The detectives called in Legere?s description before dying, leading to his arrest.
