Police say an armed Brooklyn man forced an officer to shoot him after allegedly fleeing a failed robbery in Flatbush Wednesday.
According to police, four men held up 618 E 29th Street at about 1:45 p.m. When ordered to surrender, police say three of the men obeyed. The fourth allegedly ran towards the corner of Farragut Road and Nostrand Avenue. Police say the suspect then pointed a gun on one of the officers, who shot the man in the groin. The suspect remains for treatment at Kings County Hospital.
Controversy surrounds a fifth arrest. Police claim a fifth man hit a cop on the head, leading to his detainment. However, witnesses believe the man was simply leaning over to check on the shot suspect when several officers began beating him.
