Despite a few days of fall-like temperatures last week, Wednesday could be the hottest day of the year, with temperatures expected to be in the high 90s, along with high humidity and feel-like temperatures above 100 degrees.

Cooling centers have been activated across the city, including at the Brooklyn Public Library in Flatbush, which will open its doors to the public looking for relief from the conditions.
It is recommended that people limit all outdoor activity to the early morning and to drink more water to help combat dehydration and heatstroke.
