A city councilman is accusing the NYPD of racism and police brutality.
Councilman Charles Barron was joined Monday by a group of Crown Heights residents who say they were falsely arrested in late September on President Street.
Police responded to shots fired when residents say police pushed four young men to the ground and searched them for guns. As neighbors tried to intervene, they say they were arrested with unnecessary force.
Barron says the community needs to sit down and have a discussion with the NYPD.
