Many parents are concerned about reports of an increase in criminal charges against Brooklyn and city public school employees.
According to the New York Post, charges against teachers, principals, janitors and other employees increased by 58 percent last year. There were reportedly more than 2,300 charges brought against workers in 2005. According to the Post, school officials say few of the charges against teachers were school-related.
The Department of Education plans to examine the findings before responding.
