Former Brooklyn Assemblyman Clarence Norman is on his way to prison after receiving a sentence of two to six years for grand larceny and coercion.

The ex-Democratic Party leader was denied an appeal and is being sent to prison. His lawyers say they will continue to fight the conviction.

Prosecutors said Norman attempted to hide $10,000 in campaign contributions.

The grand larceny conviction stems from charges that Norman tried to shake down a judicial candidate. Norman wielded a considerable amount of power in selecting judges during his stint at the top of the Brooklyn Democratic Party.
