The Crown Act’s fifth anniversary was celebrated outside of Barclays Center in Downtown Brooklyn on Wednesday.
Around 30 young Brooklyn residents came together alongside the WNBA’s New York Liberty and I Am H.A.I.R. Beauty to celebrate the act. It was passed in 2019 to protect people from race-based hair discrimination.
News 12’s Shniece Archer spoke to the young girls participating about how they embrace their natural hair. She also spoke with organizers about the importance of the Crown Act and loving your natural hair.
