Members of a cyclist group took their monthly ride Saturday down Grand Concourse in the Bronx to bring awareness to road safety and the dangers they face on the road.
Transportation Alternatives meets each month to ride from 161st Street to Moshulu Parkway in support of bike lanes on the roadway. The group's goal is to one day have bike lanes in every part of the five boroughs.
The cyclists added a stop on the trip at Grand Concourse and 180th Street, where Hilario Guzman was killed in a hit-and-run crash in September.

“It's not safe, where this particular crash happened,” said Kevin Daloia, of Transportation Alternatives.
In 2019, a record-breaking number of cyclists were killed on the road, mostly due to crashes with drivers behind the wheels of large trucks, buses, SUVs or vans.
When a cyclist is killed in a crash, Transportation Alternatives chains a “ghost bike” at that location in their memory.
"We're going to support the family today by placing a ghost bike, a street memorial ghost bike, a plaque, saying that a cyclist was killed here," said Erik Gonzalez.
The group says that it's important to share the road safely because many New Yorkers use their bikes for delivery services.
