A Bronx day care has been forced to shut down after a 2-year-old was caught on surveillance video walking out of the front doors without supervision.
Parents in the area are now concerned about their kids’ future day care, and some are struggling to find another option for their child after Loyalty Daycare closed its doors.
“I’m 23, so I’m a college student currently and I have two jobs,” said Brigitt Eaznara. “It’s really affecting me cause I have no one to take care of my son.”
Two-year-old Penelope was found on the corner of East 178th Street and Monterey Avenue, two minutes walking from the day care. Her mother, Delila Castro, exclusively spoke with News 12, saying that this was scary and that anything could have happened to her young daughter in that short time.
Since this incident took place, Loyalty Daycare has only commented that the matter is under investigation by the city’s Department of Health, along with the Administration for Children's Services and the NYPD.
