Traffic was snarled on the Major Deegan Expressway earlier today after debris caused a major hole in the pavement.
State transportation officials say a broken joint on the roadway caused the debris to fall at East 150th Street, shutting down the left and center lanes.
No cars fell into the hole and crews are working to put metal plates over the gap.
