Democrats in Brooklyn?s 57th Assembly District race are counting on their records to drum up support for the upcoming election.
The district, which includes Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and Prospect Heights, has no incumbent candidates. Hakeem Jefferies believes his background in law and community service will help his campaign. Meanwhile, Bill Batson feels his experience with community efforts qualifies him for the post. Freddie Hamilton, who is a community district leader, says while her post is not an official one, she is ready for the job.
The candidates will take on issues ranging from housing and health care to jobs.
