Some teachers in the city are taking their concerns over the vaccine mandate to court.
On Wednesday, members of the New York City Teachers for Choice gathered in Manhattan to rally behind Michael Kane, a special-education teacher seeking religious exemption from getting the vaccine.
Kane says he was previously denied the exemption.
This comes after Mayor Bill de Blasio reached an agreement with multiple worker unions to allow them to take a leave of absence or resign while keeping their pension if they choose not to get vaccinated.
