The Department of Environmental Protection has announced a $10 million plan to improve drainage flooding along 9th Street in Gowanus and Carroll Gardens.
The DEP made the announcement yesterday, saying the investment will help reduce flooding that occurs during storms.
New storm drains will be placed on East 9th Street between 2nd Avenue and the Gowanus Canal and between 2nd Avenue between 7th and 9th streets.
Construction is expected to begin in fall 2017.
